Terri Lailvaux wrote a stunning children’s storybook about adoption called The Greatest Gift. This book is also available in Afrikaans, Die Grootste Geskenk. It is also available on demand in Xhosa, German, Italian and French.
This book is aimed at kids aged 2-8 years. It is a story about how and why adoption takes place.
The characters are animals and the story is about 2 bears who long for a baby and a lioness who is carrying a baby. They are each unhappy with their current situation and so they seek advice from a social worker (a wise cow). She sees a link in their troubles and suggests that the bears adopt and raise the lionesses.
The 2017 price (based on the recent print run and current courier costing) for the Afrikaans and English version is R155 including tracking number postage within South Africa.
